Biking vs. Life

Hello again, for those of you still checking my blog I apologize for not writing for the past couple weeks.  The truth is is that things have been quite busy the past couple weeks and it has been all I can do to find time to even get my weekly km's in.  Between writing papers and trying to finish up a course I am taking, starting a new course and reading for that, prepping for a sermon I preached on Sunday, and of course riding, life has kept me on my toes lately.  But I am not complaining, I just haven't had much time to write.

Things in terms of riding have been going pretty good.  As you can see in the right column, I am still getting some rides in and over the past week have been trying to focus on longer (100+km) rides.  The problem hasn't been doing the rides, but more finding the time to do them.  Doing 100km's usually takes over 4 hours so it is a bit of a commitment.

I am a little nervous because I have not been up the North Shore mountains yet.  By this time last year I think I had already been up there twice.  I hope to make it up this week, I just hate having to drive somewhere in order to go for a ride.  When things are busy I would rather just jump right on my bike and start pedalling than having to drive 45min to get to the mountains.  But I know that training on the mountains is important so hopefully near the end of the week I will make my way up there.  Also, I want to get in a loooonger ride...somewhere around 130-140km's this week  But so much of this depends on the weather and how much work I am getting done in other area's of my life :)  I hope to head out on a good ride tomorrow so we'll see....I'll let you know how it goes and maybe force myself to take some picture again.

Thanks for reading!
